The Youth Empowerment Coffee from Honduras is produced by 22 young coffee producers from UNIOCAFE who are participating in the Coffee Kids project. UNIOCAFE is a producer association located in the Ocotepeque region of western Honduras. The umbrella of UNIOCAFE supports 28 producers organizations, representing over 1,000 coffee farmers. Since 2007, UNIOCAFE has been investing in their producer network through training, financing and access to coffee buyers. In 2016, they began expanding their programs to empower youth, promote gender equity and address climate change. The group provides training in best practices in coffee cultivation, cupping and quality as well as process and preparing coffee for export.
Coffee Kids is a program of Hanns R. Neumann Stiftung, with farmer associations in the Trifinio region of Central America, the border area among Honduras, Guatemala and El Salvador. The goal of Coffee Kids is to awaken the entrepreneurial spirit in your farmers, to encourage them to believe in themselves and to ensure better livelihoods for themselves and their families. The program combines training, mentoring and financing and currently includes over 250 youth in Trifinio, Colombia and Tanzania. The youth in the program recognize the potential of pursuing coffee growing as a means to provide economic opportunities. We are proud to help support the creativity, innovation and passion of these young people. Please visit https://www.coffeekids.org/ to learn more about this organization and the benefits it provides. The delicate coffee has a soft, creamy body with sweet herbal notes, hints of chocolate and hazelnut and a touch of lemon.
